Bike is together after 8mos!!
« on: July 10, 2006, 08:55:03 AM »

Well, finally... after I got rearended in Lewisville back in October I decided I might as well get get used fenders and have the bike painted how I'd like it.  After all, the front fender was dented too from me knocking something on it in the garage.  :-\  The first parts were done pretty quick but the rear fender was damaged during shipping so it had to be sent back and redone, and while I was at it I had him do the forks too.  Here is the result, I'm VERY happy with it  8) 8) 8)

Parts are gone to paint -

Back together -

Thanks guys (and gals)  It turned out exactly as I had hoped. And man does it shine in the sunlight.  I took her out for a spin just a bit ago and I had almost forgot how much fun she is.  Couldn't have too much fun though, fresh tires need scrubbing in still. But by the end of the weekend I'll be tearing it up!!

Ok..I do have one question though...call me a newbie...but how the heck do you get a bike on one of those stands???

The stand is open on the opposite side and a jack will fit inside of it. Just lift the bike on the jack, slide the stand under and let the jack back down.  As you can see, I can pull both ends of the bike off and never have to worry about it going anywhere. No need to strap it or anything.  I even climbed up on it a couple of times and made vroom vroom noises when I was having withdrawals..   ;D ;D ;D
