Riding buddies
« on: August 07, 2008, 08:09:10 AM »

Hi Everyone:

Anyone from the Grapevine / Colleyville / Southlake interested in occasional day-long rides on weekends? Moved to the area and have not found the right crowd yet...

Welcome FBR...I think you will discover that you have found the right crowd here.  There are always people looking to go riding.  I'm not in your area, but maybe someday we will share the road together.

Please check out some of the DFW meet and greets.  You'll find a bunch of folks who have a variety of personalities, interests, riding styles, and so on.  Sometimes we do rides, sometimes we just hang out, sometimes we just have breakfast...sometimes we do all of the above!  There are a lot of us on the northern half of the metroplex..  probably "most" of the active VTX group riders are on the northern half, actually.  I'm in Lewisville, just north of Grapevine.

Hi Morgan:

Thank you for the input!

Any places you could suggest? Heard about UP IN SMOKE just a couple of miles down the road, but when I drove by the other day there were no bikes to be seen!

To the Board....

Wilhoites and The Tap-In are two favorites for me in downtown Grapevine. Depending upon where you are, Lewisville has Twin Peaks.  Haven't found much of anything in Southlake myself.  I am in Coppell, just a little east of Grapevine. Hooters and Bone Daddys are in Grapevine as well.

Like Morgan said, check out the DFW meet and greet thread further down the page.  I usually post a M&G for sometime on the weekend.  I live in Carrollton.  We were just talking about scheduling some lunch runs in the next few weeks as the temp lowers.

Welcome!

Welcome to the forums!!!

Morgan and I (and sometimes others) meet up on Thursdays at Twin Peaks in Lewisville (I-35E just south of Vista Ridge Mall) from 7ish to 9ish. We hang out on the patio closest to the bikes, and Morgan can usually be found standing next to his bike talking about his Proton-4.  ;D ;D ;D

Hopefully we can ride soon.

FB, in addition to hooking up with the great folks on this board, get on meetup.com and search for motorcycle, biker, etc.   There's about a jillion groups on there you can hook up with, I know there's a few over on the Fort Worth side.  You can never have too many ride options...

Want to thank y'all for the feedback. I searched the meetup option suggested by Crow57 and found some interesting groups out there. There will be a  BLUE STAR "snack for the troops" RIDE [/b] this Sunday - a great reason to ride and an enjoyable way to support our brave guys and gals in uniform! Hope to see you there!
