Vista Cruise & Kury ISO Grips
« on: June 25, 2008, 11:19:07 PM »

Has anyone installed the Vista-Cruise "Universal" Cruise Control (thumb lock) on their bike with Kury ISO Grips?

I slapped the new Kury's on today, and had ordered the vista cruise at the same time...

I attempted to put the vista cruise on, and was going through the instructions, when it got to the part about sliding the ring over the grip and then putting filler in there.  The ring seems to be just a millimeter or 2 too small to go around the end of the grip (near the switchbox housing)...

any advice?

I am taking her to the stealership tomorrow to get serviced (bought the maintenance plan with the bike) and am thinking about asking them to install it if they can...

Hey Murray...I've got the Vista on my bike with aftermarket grips. Works ok...when climbing a hill you loose speed, when coming down a hill, you increase speed well over where you originally set it. When I purchased it, the parts guy told me it works well and that he had ISO's on hisbike which are the thickest grips you can get, and had no problems installing it on his bike. Take your time, and I don't think you will need the long rubber insert since your grips are so large, and already have rubber on them.

That's the only downfall to a throttle lock. With the power the 1800's have, you wouldn't think a little hill would drag it down that much, but it does. :o

O0  Murray...just finished putting mine on.  I had to take the groved piece of rubber and cut it down.  I have the flame ISO grips.  I slid on the ring first & then installed the rubber insert.  Took just a smidge of work; but got r done; also mine did not snug up all way.  It was about a 1/16th to & 1/8th short of the grip handle.  Seems to work fine; will test in the morning.
