I'm still with Progessive..... renewed last month - so I'll wait a year to go with Bikeline. Or cancel and hope for a refund.

I use Bikeline, less than 200 a year for my 03 1300, inlcudes 2k for accecories.  Never had a problem with them.

Did you actually have a claim with them? That is when you know if an Insurance Company is worth the premium you pay. They like you until then........ ::)

No I haven't, I won't go with insurance just for the $$, there is too much at stake. I researched the company thru lots of riders on VTXOA who have Bikeline and none had any issues with the company, even some who had filed claims.  They are bikers who specialize in rider insurance.

As for Progessive, I have had them and Dairyland.  I had one accident while with Progressive and filed a claim, when I got my next renewal, no other accidents and no tickets, Progressive raised my rates 110%.

I just did an on-line quote with Bikeline - they were $170/year cheaper than Progressive, Geico was almost $1000 more than Progressive..... but, like VTXLady says... they are only as good as your last claim. I've had Progessive since getting the bike last year and had one claim - a car forced me off the road and the resulting accident did quite a bit of damage to a week old bike. Progressive paid off quickly, and even bought my helmet - for what I paid for it.

Hope you have better luck with Progressive than I did.  I filed a claim with them after I hit an oil slick in the road and went down, the claim was only for about $1500.  When I got my renewal, they raised my rates 110%.

Yep, I figured if I stayed with them for 3 years, they would have gotten all of their claim money back.  I switched to Dairyland and got my rates back down and stayed with them until I bought my X and then went with McGraw thru the dealeship, that was a mistake.  When I found out about Bikeline, I went with them and been there ever since.

What really pi$$ed me was I was charged more for being single - like I'm more of a risk than someone who's married. Hell - I've been divorced for over 12 yrs. I argued with them saying since I'm not married, I won't have a big fight, run out of the house, jump on the bike and roar away. Didn't matter.... still a bigger risk than that 25 yr old married rider..... just doesn't make sense. Progessive isn't the only one doing that - it's all of them.

I got geico...   3 bikes, save me over $400.00 vs. Bike line or progressive...    Remember, you insurance quote is based in your credit score, driving record and the risk factor you are for the insurance company.  I deal with Geico in an everyday basis, They are not only my bike insurance but also the carrier for our vehicles my wife has an SUV and I have a sport Car.   They are not bad at all to deal with, some of you may remember this about a year ago I hit someone in the freeway, going less than 2 mph I was stoped and I rolled into the car infront of me, no damage to my truck, the guy infront of me got a settlement of $100,000.00  some how.  I was very upset.  After consulting with a lawyer, he said that insurance companies will pay those types of cases in order to protect their customers from been sue.  My rate did not go up  :)

I work in a very high volume bodyshop, and geico is at the shop every day,  they have always taken care of their customers as well as the claiments.  If I was in an accident and the person that hit me had Proressive, Allstate, US Auto, Fred Loya...  I'll call my own insurance compny in a hear beat.

If you have Farmers, USAA, State Farm, Geico, Amica, Kemper, AIG, Mercuy Mutual, you are in good hands.

Maybe Geico has made some changes over the years, but I lost interest in them as I posted earlier.  I got a divorce and even though I was 38 and had a perfect record, my insurance went up because I was now a higher risk for being single.  I was shopping around and checked out Geico.  I was paying 800 a year with Farmers.  38 yoa, no tickets and no previous accidents.  I had a small fender bender that year and the total claim was $800.  I called Geico and was given a qoute of $2400 a year.  When I said I was only paying $800 a year the rep said it was because I had that accident.  I shopped around and got insurance for less that 750 a year.  I just felt the qoute Geico gave me was way out of line.  That was quite a few years ago, maybe they saw the light.

Our Insurance renewals in Nov. I was told it was an At Fault Accident so premium will go up. If it goes up that much I will just have to shop around........

By the way Jim and I have Auto Insurance with Geico........ Hope we never have to use it. Not so much it may or may not pay off but I don't want to be in an Accident to have to fine out::).

just remeber... buying insurance can be like buying a car...  if you get a rate that you don't like, you don't have to buy.
