So....do I need to get a pilot's license and file a flight plan to get to work?

If you don't love what you're doing, then don't do it.
Your chances of success are directly proportional to the degree of pleasure you derive from what you do.

very cool.  I wonder if it auto-rotates in case of engine failure.....

That makes motorcycling look much safer.

Any helicopter is inherently capable of autorotating, if it's flown correctly...  Which by the way, the guy flying it in the video has a death wish.  Hovering with 0 airspeed 50 feet above the ground is just asking for it...

I used to do a lot of QuickTime VR for Bell and American Eurocopter. It amazed me that those pilots would hold those things perfectly still 20 feet from the ground in 20+ mph winds. Mounted a camera on one and shot a VR panorama of LA Colloseum as he rotated the copter. Those pilots definitely have a lot of confidence, (more than me). One did a combat maneuver that I think was called a "Split S" with me in an Apache during a photo shoot. I got out of that thing a changed individual... :o  Even the finished footage would turn your stomach.

I'm older now...I'll just ride.  8)
