terrible TC

removing forks

anybody got a link to removing forks? I want to paint the trip trees and forks. Im about to go to work so I dont have time for a thorough search. preciate it

No link, but it's easy. Remove the wheel, brake calipers, and fender. Loosen the upper and lower pinch bolts and slide them out. If you are going to take them apart to do any work or change the oil while they're out, loosen the upper pinch bolts, then the caps, before you loosen the lower pinch bolts. You might want to disassemble the left fork (as you're sitting on the bike) before loosening the lower bolts on that side.

thanks, I thought it was probably easy,, just never seen it done didnt want to have a problem.

RockNroll.... I dont use forks. Takes too much time.  O0

 Will tell you that removal of the forks sounds really hard but I found out it was one of the easiest things that I have done to my bike. Removed them when putting some new progressive springs in. Just make sure when you have it on the jack you have the jack placed a little bit more to the back so the weight will even out when you remove the front off. Good luck and need some more info just say the word.  8)
