Let me know when you've got the new X and I'll ride up.  I've got a friend in Collinsville that I need to go see anyway, haven't seen him in about 8 years.

Where you coming from, Rob?

East of Sanger. On the south side of Lake Ray Roberts.  I'm less than an hour from Sherman.  A good distance for a ride and then some.

Well heck... I've still got the Spirit, so we should hook up and ride soon.

Sure, I'm hoping to have my bike back in one piece in the next week or so, right now it's in a whole bunch of boxes and such..  :-[

In pieces?!  What happened??  I hope all's okay.

By the way, I broke down and told the dealer to grab Honda's last '05 VTX1800N2, black, Honda has in their warehouse - I should have it in about a week  ;D

I got rear ended back in Oct or Nov of last year ('05) and I can't leave well enough alone.  I had it painted in the process of repairing it.  Had some hiccups with the paint and just got the last parts back in last month. Now it's just staring at me in the garage saying, "Put me back together you fool, its summer and I want to go VRROOOOMMMM!!!"

I actually sat on it the other day and made vrroom vrroom noises trying to make it feel better....  and me..  ;)

Glad to hear you couldn't wait, trade the spirit in..  ;)  Is it a 750 or an 1100?  I had an 1100 for a while and my wife had a 750.  Both very nice bikes

Yes, trading it - it's an 06 1100, blue.  And yes, nice bike.  But I truly dislike the old carbeuration (sp).

Fuel injection is the way to go, in my opinion.

I'm nervous and excited.  Nervous about the weight, excited about such a wonderful machine.

I've only been back riding for 3 months - was off for a bit more than two years.  Had a dog run under the wheels of my bike in Feb of 04, broken knee and leg - then when I could walk - divorce.  Life's been a challenge, but I'm on the upswing again.

I'm gonna love floorboards, and most certainly the looks and power.  I'm assuming the ride will be comfortable enough for some long distance jaunts.

You gonna love it. Floor boards are really comfortable, I like scraping them on turns. O0

Quietguy,

You're a gonner....give up the "guest" status, and git your bad self signed up....the "X-bug" is not going to let go of your hindquarters, so you might as well get used to lugging it around (or vice-versa!)...

Welcome to the board....read often, read long....learn the lessons of some of the very best of the X-riders....if you can't find it here, try the national board (though I've got to tell you....some of the very best advice comes out of the TX clan)

Cheers,

Hey Boomer, thanks for the input!

I dunno what happened, or what I may have done, but I was registered and made it to "rider" status when everything went Poof!

So I'm starting over.

Thanks again,

Lennie
