Stock exhaust compatibility between models...
« on: June 28, 2006, 06:20:52 PM »

I like quiet (hence the nickname and the tattoo that goes with it).

I also very much like the appearance of the stock pipes on both the N and F models.

So... if I were to acquire a C model could I, without modification, mount either sets of pipes from the two above onto the C?

Thanks for the input.

I don't believe they will work.  All models but the C have a relief molded into the side cover to accomodate the exhaust.  I think you would run into a clearance issue between the pipe and side cover possibly melting the plastic.

I also have a set of Neo stock pipes as I recently installed Hard Krome strippers. What exactly do you do to the stock pipes, if you don't mind me asking?

Forwarning, sometimes the neo's have a fuel pump problem.  Have them do make ready before you get there.

There is a pretty good mod for the pipes.  I found it on the main board. All it is, is cutting the thing open, removing the baffles, moving the catylitic, and porting the tail pipe.  Sounds pretty good, really deep, kinda loud but not obnoxious.

Now if I could only get a 6th gear.

From all I've read and heard a 6th gear isn't needed... or does it get buzzy?
