I'm taking HipShot up on his offer in the next couple weeks.
Well, inquiring minds want to know...so keep us privy to the time/date.  I'm not sure that I really need a valve adjustment, but I am always in need of learning more stuff, especially if it's related to my bike.

If you don't love what you're doing, then don't do it.
Your chances of success are directly proportional to the degree of pleasure you derive from what you do.

You're more than welcome to drive down here and watch me do one. If you're interested in doing that bring a manual (to take notes) and a camera. It's really not hard, just a little tedious. Believe me, I'd rather do two VTXs than a Shadow 750 or a CBR.

I think I would trade either one of those you mentioned for doing the Concours 14, OMG!  As soon as I can get some bikes out of my shop, I am going to do a throttle body synch on the X.  Hipshot, have you done that yet??  Did you notice any difference??

Tapper synch'd mine about 27K ago, Roland. As I recall, it was fairly bad out of synch. I think I have more grunt off the line, would be the only difference I've noticed.

Thanks, Snake!  Not trying to hijack the thread  ::)    I hope to get to mine real soon.  If I am closer than Dallas, I can fix you up next time. O0

Hey Roland, I haven't been on here in a couple of days. I did a TB synch about 40,000 miles ago. I don't remember if it made any kind of difference or not, other than it seemed to smooth out the idle some. It certainly can't hurt to do it, and it might help. If I had a set of gauges I'd probably redo mine.

Hey Guys, I would like to tag along on this if you all don't mind. Took my 1800 in today over $200 bucks for valve adjustment at Houston Honda .

Got 'er done!  Hipshot and his lady were fantastic, Hookem provided some good heckling, it was a really nice day.  The valve thing is really pretty reasonable.... as long as you're as strong as 3 MAD she-gorillas.  :)

Thanks again, Jim.  I very much appreciate it.

I'm in Cedar Park just north of Austin and can show anyone how to do a valve adjustment on an 1800R that is nearby and in need.  PM anytime.
