Clutch question for the customizers out there. . .
« on: March 22, 2008, 08:45:22 PM »

Looking to see if any one out there knows of a possible automatic clutch option for larger bikes like the VTX. . .

I have a brother with a bumb left hand.  No problme with holding handlebars and steering, but not enough use of his left hand to use the clutch properly.

I seem to remember a guy inventing a cintrifical?(did I spell that right?) clutch that you would use instead of or on top of a regular clutch.  Cant remember the name of the guy or what it was called, but maybe this will jog some memories out there. O0

Since the 1800 has the front brake interlinked to the rear brake, wonder if it would be reasonable to swap the hydraulic lines between the front brake and clutch...  In other words move the clutch over to the throttle side ...  Might be a little tricky operating throttle & clutch with one hand, but if he wants to ride bad enough....

Thanks  - I was pointed to a company that makes drop in cintrifugal clutch plates that sounds like the cure we're looking for.

By the way got the new tires on and managed to run her up and down the road a little when I got back in town yesterday.  Felt really good to be back on the road.  I'll check the email at work tomorrow and get with you.
