While the problem is not really common, several people have had that part stick and keep the starter cranking. This happens with other bikes also, not just Hondas. A friend's BMW did it awhile back (K1200S), and we had no idea where to look for it. The fact that it was dark wasn't a huge help. Anyway, you might want to locate it for future reference, because if it sticks the ONLY remedy is to disconnect it from the battery. You could easily overheat and ruin your starter while pulling the seat, ECU, battery cover, and ground. It's quicker to go straight to the solenoid (or magnetic starter switch), and knowing where it is and what it looks like helps a little.

To get to the solenoid, (magnetic starter switch), simply pull the left side cover. Disconnecting power to the unit should be as easy as pulling one of the two wires on the top of the unit, but they are not easily pulled off. I had to pry them off.

I'm still not sure that you wouldn't have to disconnect the main input from the battery, and that takes a wrench. But it would still be quicker than pulling the seat, ECU, battery cover and ground.

I would like to thank everyone for their input. It was really a simple problem that got compounded by a mis-labled part in my service manual, my own lack to due diligence, and the ever confusing delivery policies of Fed-X

Glad you got your bike up and running Mike. Mine actually left it's parking spot yesterday. I have a stupid question. Humor me, I just woke up, but couldn't a person pull one of the main fuses to kill power to the starter? Just curious.

I would think so, but I'm not sure. Maybe someone else can tell us?

However I NOW know where they are all located. 

I'm really not a wrench, as you can tell from this thread.
