Finally got it done! I like it!
« on: February 07, 2008, 01:39:48 PM »

I finally got a new tire for the back. Went with the P205/60/R15 Douglas H-T. Rides and handles great. I will post pictures later. I had a P215 and got cold feet and traded it in for the 205. Now that I haave the 205 on I believe the 215 would clear. I am defanately going to go 215 next time.

Done it myself. A buddy and me went half each on a cheap tire mounting stand. Did'nt work very well, but it was our first attempt. I think we will do better the next time around.

No, a 1300R. There doe not seem to be as much clearence on an 1800. My buddy that helped me has an 1800R and he has a 195 on his and we dont think he can any larher than a 200 judging on the clearence he has now.

Mounting a car tire :D :D ;D

Just put the tire on the ground and then next the rim on top  (rotor facing down)  make sure you have some cushion under it like a moving blanket to prevent scraping
now jump up and down on the rim until it is in, flip and repeat process to seat the other side, but jump on the tire this time, be carefull since the rim is now closer to the ground
works like a charm O0

disclaimer: I will not pay for any damages occurring from this process

oops forgot to add soapy water to help slide it on and a tie down strap to help with the sealing when airing it up ???

The rotor is actualy very easy to take off. I had to because there was not enough clearence with it on. The thing that makes a 1300 more difficult than an 1800 is the trough is in the center on a 1300 where as the 1800 is to one side.
