Thanks for all of your input on the Crash/Engine Bars. I know I will be getting the ones that is one piece. I am not worried about looking good. I didn't have them before because I thought they were $200.00 to $300.00 dollars. In my research I found them to be reasonably priced.

I will check out the Linby Bars. I do like the Fat Cobra's but I can't tell from the picture if they are one piece or 2.

Just looked at the Linby Bars. The price is not right....:( By the way I will not be using them as a Highway Bar either. My legs are too short to reach them.............. ::)

Marigold, these are the ones I have on my bike.  http://www.hondadirectlineusa.com/stores/product.asp?pid=4526&str=13&ID=69189960   They are one piece.  Check the big board for the Pros & Cons on these bars.  I am believer on these bars.  Once I snow plowed on grass over 1/2 " gravel.  The bike gently went over to rest on the bar.  I got a hernia lifting it back up, but I made it. :)  When taking curves too fast, the floor boards drag and not the bars.

Hi Jerry is it a 1 piece engine guard? I was told by someone at HDL since the description said "Engine Guard Bars" then that means 2 pieces..

I have the Cobra fatties on my 1800 and they are one piece. They are also pretty easy to install, I let my little boy help me put mine on, so they won't be coming off Ever. He got a big kick out of helping Daddy work on the bike.

Thanks txcajun........

So this person at HDL is incorrect. Just because is says Cobra Fatty Bars then it doesn't necessarily mean 2 pieces.....

Marigold, I have the same Cobra Fatty's that Jerry has.  The 1 1/2" diameter vs the 1 1/4" of the others looks better on a bike of this size, imho.  When I dropped my bike going about 1 mph trying a tight parking lot about face the bike was unscratched and an extra benefit was the bike lay on the asphalt a little higher up so righting it alone was somewhat easier.   :-[
