Black rubber turn signal thingy's
« on: October 29, 2007, 09:41:07 AM »

Because I have NO IDEA what they're called! I'm talking about the black rubber extension piece between the body of the bike and the chrome turn signal housing. Two questions, what is that part called and can you remove that to bring the chrome housing flush against the bike? I'm sure I'd have to zip-tie the extra wiring as I'm shortening the distance from the housing to the bike, but I'd really like to get rid of those ugly things.

Thanks

Black rubber thingy works for me. The thing could be taken out, you will have to modify the mount off the black thingy to hold the other part or just mod a fastener to hold it on. The rubber is of course a vibration dampner, so unless you have LED lights, vibration might shorten the filaments life span by a little.

When I was modifying turn signals on my X I found that the rubber thing was to prevent the turn signals from grounding to the bike.
