Had a great ride over the weekend down in the Hill country (FM 337, Hwy 16, don't remember all the other routes) raising money for Medina Children's Home. Rode all day Friday, almost all day Saturday until about 4:30 when the road decided it had seen enough of my wife and I upright, so we ended up on the side of the road. I don't know if there were any X-ers who came by or not, but it is a great brotherhood we're part of. I bet 2 dozen bikers were there with us before any cops or ambulance showed up. Not too bad off all things considered, just some pretty road rash on wife and I, she's got a banged up ankle, and I have 2 fractured ribs. We're ready to heal and ride again, but this first crash will leave it's mark. If you were there with us, thank you for stopping to render aid. A rider by the name of Greg Hughes from the Houston area was a God-send, so if you know him, give him a pat on the back. Oh, the bike has about $2k in damage but should be fine. Ride safe - and ride with gear on! My helmet kept my face from being even uglier than it is...
