The truth of this I don't know from Adam, but if I may play the devil's advocate for a moment. . .
Up untill about a year ago (yea I drink heavily and/or have led a shealtered life) I'd never heard of this chick "Snopes", but I notice every one seems to take her as the last source- unerroring, unquestionable and completely beyound reproach or doubt.
Sorry I aint buy guys - the idea that if Snopes doesn't believe it - never happened is the same as believing every thing that comes across the wire. (at least in my oppinion)
You have humans researching this, you have human prejudice, bias, error, cover up - what ever you want to call it.
I did mention playing devil's advocate...
But hey that's just me and the scotch talking.
