estimate
« on: October 07, 2007, 08:53:08 AM »

I had a crash on my 1300 Friday and asked a local dealer about giving me a repair estimate. He says the estimate will cost 70 bucks. I'm just wondering if this is standard procedure to get an insurance estimate. Any thoughts?

A lot of them charge, the one I went to only charged $35. If you get it repaired there they should take it off the bill, ask.

Pretty standard if you're only wanting the estimate and not letting them do the work.  Depending on your insurance though, you may be able to get away with just taking the adjuster's estimate as long as you know what you're getting into.  In both of my accidents the adjuster has been within about 100 dollars of the dealer's estimate.
