Hey guy's I've got a question about the trans on my 06 1300. When I down shift into first or coming out of first to second I get a hell of a klunck. It doesn't happen moving anywhere else either up or down. Any ideas? or is this normal?

Perfectly and anoyingly normal.....after you hit about 2000 miles, switch to a good synthetic MC oil. The clunk will be reduced quite a bit.

I dunno, he's got a KLUNCK with a K and a C. I've never heard one of those before. If it was just a clunk, I'd say he's okay. Not sure about this one though. Try wearing earplugs and see if that helps......................(just kidding, you're fine). Switching to synthetic oil (and some miles of breakin wear) will help, and you may wish to check your clutch cable adjustment. Everything is a tradeoff: your Honda has bulletproof gears, and the configuration that they are cut to which makes them bulletproof makes the shifting a little bit coarser. If after another thousand miles it still makes a KLUNCK instead of a clunk, then get rid of it quick-----you bought a lemon!!!

Thanks, Hipshot, Now I know the error of my ways... it's more of a C lunk than a K lunck. I really didn't notice it much till I started riding with a group and everybody kept turning their heads when I shifted outta first. Kinda felt like I had farted in church or something.... I guess they were used to riding with Harley guys and a sound like that would signal a rest stop....
I noticed your avatar, and was wondering if your in Law Enforcement? I work in Houston outta the Fire Marshalls Office.

My 06 1300 does the exact same thing. I've never farted in church, though, so I don't know what those looks from others looks like...

That clunk is loud especially around Hardley's. Of course, the key to successful farting in church is completely related to your ventriliquist throwing technique/timing.
