She was about 20 feet behind me on her bike, and she got to watch the whole incident.  She went after the driver and then she decided it would be better to let the cops and insurance work it out instead.  If she would have punched the driver, she would have gone to jail, and that would not have helped in any way.  She kept her cool and made sure my bike was taken care of and then rode in the ambulance with me to the hospital.

We are doing well, still in a lot of pain, but it is getting better.  As for the bike, lots of bent and scratched items, but my paint did not even  get a single scratch on it.  My rear wheel and swingarm are bent to the point that they rub, so the bike is not ridable.  Hopefully I can get the adjustor to come out to the house and give me the estimate so we can move forward.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes,
Jim

Thanks for all the encouragement and positive thoughts.

Any one know a good lawyer?  Jim neglected to include that the dingbat flat out lied to the police office -- said she never moved  >:(  We haven't seen the police report yet so hopefully he listened to the witnesses.

Y'all ride safe too!

I used Baker,Brown and Dixon for my motorycle accident back in November......Of course you can always "strong arm" them with the "Hammer" :)

I was at the pool with a 5 & 6 year old. I heard the crash but by the time I could get them out of the water. The other people from the pool were returning. Sorry I didn't make it. From what I understand the cage driver claimed she was not moving. BS. I only heard the crash but I still call BS.

Hey Jim, haven't heard anything lately from you and we just wondered if there was any news. How you holding up? We hope you're bearing the pain well and it's subsiding. Let us know what the insurance is doing too. If there is anything we can do let us know.

Well, the good news is the bike is not totalled.  The frame is not bent, so all of the damage is cosmetic.  The adjustor came out on Wednesday, and we went over the bike from end to end, and I am waiting on the check so I can start rebuilding her.  As for me, if I miss a scheduled dose of pain meds, I suffer until I get another dose.  I have found that healing does take longer than 1 week for 5 broken bones.  I am healing, but it is a slow process.

DUDE!  Damn I'm sorry to hear this. Kim sends her best as well.  I fell down some stairs on the 7th and separated ribs, nothing broken and I know how long that's taking to heal.  I was amazed at how long my broken arm took a couple years back.  Drop me a note if you guys want to do something like dinner or whatever.

Update.....
My bike has been finished at the dealer, and I can pick it up tomorrow.  I still can't ride it, but it is ready for me.  The 1300 final drive finally came in on Thursday, and my Barons Drag bars got here today.  I will spend the next few days doing the internal wiring on the bars and waiting for my new mirrors ( Bada Bings from Tejas Thump Cycles).  Hopefully my collar bone will finally heal up and I can start riding with you guys again.

Later,
Jim
