« on: August 22, 2007, 06:51:55 PM »

Is it possible for a bike to be out of allignment? I know that sounds crazy but my tire has almost no tread on the left center but still quite a lot on the right center side. outer edges are fine?

it's not your bike brotha. it's the crown in the road that makes it do that, and it's always on the left side. i can almost bet you money that all the replies you get on this one will be about the same as to of what i said 8)

Left turns are longer.

It's ABSOLUTELY not the crown in the road, sorry Justin.  :)

It's a combination of 2 factors.  1)  Left turns are up to 4 times longer.  2)  Because they're more gradual, you're able to hit them harder and faster.  That combination of factors tears them up on that side, very normally.

The road crown theory has been pretty well disproven.  The amount of drop on a road to create that much road wear would be much more significant than the average of like 3" of drove over 12 feet or road.

Here's a fantastic link:

Less beer when you ride :-\ :-\

C'mon X ride with us Sunday.  If it is too long, you can always cut out a ways into it.
