Polishing hand controls
« on: August 16, 2007, 09:29:42 PM »

I'm sure you fellas knew this, cause y'all are the VTX Kings and Queens (CouldBeFaster  O0 )....

If ya hit your hand controls with 800, 1000, 1200 grit sandpaper and F,G, and H polishing compound on a bench grinder with a buffing wheel, then a shot of clear coat, they come out pretty OK...Whadda ya think?

FYI its a lot faster if you use a paint remover on the parts to remove the clear coat.  Then go over it with a polishing disc on a die-grinder.  Did mine with both resivors in less than an hour. Also, you can do your turn signal mounts, down tubes(1300's) and wheels the same way.

Just my .02.

Man, if it only takes an hour I'll give you $50 bucks to do mine!
