I just picked up a Samsung 56" LED DLP (HT-5987S if I recall correctly). It's greatness. To me, DLP is the answer. No screen burn in to deal with like on plasma's. It isn't as thin as LCD, but the picture is amazing.

TigerDirect.com: Vizio VP42 42" 1024x768 / 720p / 10,000:1 Contrast Ratio / HDMI / ATSC Tuner / HDTV Plasma TV . Refurb, It rocks, get the 2 year warranty and no worries. I have two of them and it looks like they had the screww gun impacts set a tad to high and bent the speaker grills on one side. the TV is awesome, plenty of inputs.
