Tire question
« on: May 23, 2006, 10:32:02 PM »

I think this is a stupid question. Do VTX tires have tubes or are they tubeless. I have read that it depends on the model. Is this true? Can somebody dispell this for a non-wrencher  :-\

It does depend on the model.  The 1300R is tubless while the 1300S has a tube.  A general rule of thumb is that if it has spoked wheels it has a tube.  If it has the Aluminum wheels it is tubeless.

You should see the answer on the tire side wall I wish I could help more. It should say tubless if it doesn't have a tube.  It may be in the hand book if your tires are original ones that came on the bike.  One more way if you let all the air out the valve stem will push down into the rim if its a tube.  Oh be near a air pump before trying this.   ;D
Good ? I liked it make me feel like a wrencher.  8) ;D                                                                                                                                   Also Dar can give you the tech answer something like this I guess "It does depend on the model.  The 1300R is tubless while the 1300S has a tube.  A general rule of thumb is that if it has spoked wheels it has a tube.  If it has the Aluminum wheels it is tubeless."
