Ride Today on new Ultimate X
« on: April 29, 2007, 05:31:12 PM »

Went for a good ride today about 150 miles. The new Ultimate X seat it the ticket. No problems with the Monkey But or Butt Burn at all! I've rode some short rides, but this is the first ride for over a tank of gas.

I'm still nursing a sore tail bone though. I bruised mine riding on the stock seat before the Ultimate came in. I've had this before and it usually takes several month to go away.

No complaints fron the better half either about the seat, no burn or anything.

Sure did. I find I don't need it when I ride 2 up. It hurts my wife's legs also. I use it solo.

Hey TexPops.  I read the thread for those deflectors but some of the photos won't load up so I'm not sure I have the right idea.  I have a Hondaline screen but it looks like you have a piece of light guage angle with two bolts through the deflector on one leg and one to the lower fastener on the screen bracket on the other leg.  If that's the case, it's pretty cool that it holds with only one bolt on the one leg.  I would probably not have even tried that since I would have figured that it would take two fasteners.  I'm going to give it a try.  Just let me know if I missed something.  I work in a steel fabrication shop and am thinking I can probably find something to work.

I took the wife out for a short ride the other night and the back rest kinda bothered her legs too so will try without it. Pulling out next Monday or Tuesday morning for Ft Stockton and on down to Terlingua area, so don't need her complaining about the backrest.

I'm running a Memphis Fats W/S but should be about the same. I'm just using the lower mounting bolt and it works just fine. The only other setups I've seen use clamps around the fork tubes and I didn't want that. Have prolly 3000 miles on the lowers and nary a twitch. O0 If you saw the pics, you'll see I notched the angle to fit into the light bar (doesn't attach, but does help brace) Your 1800 might be different.
