Got a question.

Howdy,
I just bought a 2004 Honda vtx 1300 c and it's having a little trouble. When it is first warming up it seems to have a miss in the first couple of gears. The bike has a K&N airfilter, some after market pipes, and has been jetted. At idle speeds there seems to be a throttle position that causes the bike to miss and sputter. I usually try to blow past this position, or if I throttle up slowly the sputter is not as noticeable. Any thoughts?
I would also like to know the best place to buy accessories for this bike. I am planning a drive from TX to CA and am trying to figure out the best way to carry all my luggage. I really in need of sissy bar.
thanks,
gruntsky

Welcome to the board
The sites TC posted are great and Honda Direct Line is the best, cheepist, and easiest to deal with I've found around so far Hope you figure out your prob, I ride an 1800 and don't know anything about the 1300. Hang in there, somebody on here will know and help. Where ya from?

Not enough info. What it MAY be is a need for an accomplished tuner to adjust your carburetor. Every bike runs a little different; If you just slap in the recommended jet for your exhaust and airbox, you might be pretty well tuned. But you might not.

You might post this question on the 1300 riders board on the national board as well.
vtxoa.com
as a 1300 rider w/out an after-market air filter and slip-on muffler upgrades I have not had to re-jet or tune my carb yet. Another good place to look is
http://tech.vtxoa.com/
.
Hope that helps a bit

Here's where I got my Cobra sissy bar they also have a nice luggage rack to go on it. I have both and have been very pleased with them.
http://motoleather.com/cobrasissybars.html
The sissy bar(got the standard height) runs
$215
And the luggage rack is
$122
With free UPS ground shipping on either
Sorry though, no clue on the other problem
