DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The days of custom choppers roaring through the streets of Dayton Beach during Bike Week might be a thing of the past.
Daytona Beach police said officers are ready to write tickets for bikers and bars in violation of the city's noise ordinance.
Some violators might not be worried about a $75 ticket, but police have an answer to that. Anyone who continues to ignore warnings about noise can be arrested.
Those who flock to Dayton Beach will have to keep the noise level below 70 decibels, which is the normal noise level for busy traffic.
Police said traffic noise during Bike Week has reached 110 decibels in the past.
This year, Bike Week runs from March second through the eleventh
