We rarely saw any law enforcement. However, we left TN at 3:30pm saturday and arrived in houston at 5am sunday. I have a post on here about break in time, you should check that out. The weather was great. You may want a jacket for protection and just in case you need it. I don't think a radar detector would be necessary unless you are going to be hammering it.
If you are on the verge of crapping yourself looking at pictures, wait until you see your baby at the dealership. Better bring a change of clothes!
