I have been meaning to ask you about this, but keep forgetting.

Over Thanksgiving I was in Allen, TX. and saw a car at a Burger King that was marked on the doors as "Postal Police". It looked official. Is this for real? Isn't it a bad thing for cops to go Postal?   

But seriously, what do they do?

It's a good thing. I try to go postal at least twice a week .

They are Federal Agents. They work for the US Postal Service. Don't steal mail in front of them.

My dad was a Postal Policeman for 25 years.  Basically they are in charge of anything involving mail, i.e., stealing mail, illegal stuff mailed, customs stuff.  My dad worked at the main postal hub in Chicago, and they also had juristriction (sp?) of the local community surrounding the hub.  They have all the abilities that regular police have, but like Hipshot said, they are Federal Agents.

I'm glad to know it's there. It was just sort of comical to read POSTAL POLICE. And to be honest that was my first time to ever see that term.
