I'm looking for the straps that attach to the windshield of a 21 inch Fats. I have all other hardware and the shield itself, but the metal straps are missing. Thought I'd check here before having to buy the entire windshield.

Check the VTXOA and ebay before you spend a bunch of money. I have the fats myself.

What parts are you calling the straps?

The straps are the thin strips of metal that bolt directly to the windshield itself, (one across, two down, both sides), see a photo here:

The mounting hardware then attaches, (from the forks), to them. I'm keepin' an eye on ebay and have posted on VTXOA board.

Hey Mike, I've never dealt ditectly with MS, but I've heard several times that they will go out of their way to help. Have you checked to see if they will sell you the parts you need?

Most hardware stores have flat alum. It should be pretty simple to make some if it's just the flat pcs.

But maybe I have been spending too much time on this board.

Hey Mike, I've never dealt ditectly with MS, but I've heard several times that they will go out of their way to help. Have you checked to see if they will sell you the parts you need?

You are right Jim, they will go out of their way to help. I called them and they offered to send me the straps for a $90 donation to St. Judes Children's Research Fund. Very nice of them but I think I might have to make some for the time being, my daughter tapped me today for a new wedding dress.

Thank you. I'm spending a small fortune repairing and re-assembling the bike and my daughter is getting married this spring and doesn't want to spend her honeymoon riding my bike, (imagine that), so if you'll take less than Memphis Shades is wanting, I need to save the money. Send me a PM.
