1800 Valve Adjustment
« on: November 30, 2006, 10:50:19 AM »

Does anyone know if a procedure to do the valves is available anywhere. I have the tools etc. but have not been able to find a step by step instruction. There is a very good one posted for the 1300, is it applicable to the 1800? Any help would be appreciated.
Looks like the cold weather will keep a lot of us in the garage and would be a great time to do some tune work. Happy Holidays everyone!

Pulling the tank is a bit different and the clearances are a bit different ; .005" intake and .013" exhaust for the 1800. Other than that it's all the same. When you pull the tank on the 1800 you need to unplug the connector atop the frame backbone, disconnect the fuel line at the fuel rail end, and disconnect the fuel return line. Pulling the tank is easier with an extra set of hands if you don't have a good prop to hold it up, and you'll want the tank as close to empty as practical.
