VTX mechanic needed
«
on:

I need to get my plug fouling and timing crap straightened out before Galveston. I won't take my bike to Woods and have them 'see what we can do.' Any one know a mechanin in the Austin area that knows VTXs and isn't stunned to see a hypercharger on a bike?
Thanks for any help.

Just put you a pc3 on it. 259.95 from a shop on ebay. Mine were fouling when I opened up the intake and exaust. now they are clean after about a thousand miles.

hey tim, have you tried georgetown honda? thats who i take the X to. they have always been good to deal with for me. other than that, Zabors on burnet road is a highly recommended shop. good luck.

Has a PC III on there now, dyno'd about a year and a half ago. I thought about Paul Zabor, he does my tires and brakes and is a good mech. but I don't know if he gets into the electrical or not. Guess I could call.... give me the Mr Obvious prize for the day...lol

Well, I spoke to two different Dealer mechanics today and they both said they have no fix for the '02 right rear plug issue. Both recommended rotating plugs to keep them clean.
Tapper, if I haul my bike up to you have you got a fix for this problem?

Which plugs are you running? How quickly, and how badly, are they fouling? Are you running a custom map?

Have you stepped up to the hotter plugs that honda put in the 03's and later? How many miles do you have on the bike?

Right rear plug is fouling after 200-300 miles of normal running. Pulled off my PCIII this weekend. The original went pffft and Dynoject sent a replacement for $100. I think they sent my original back... same problem as before, computer can't find the PCIII and can't manually adjust the PCIII. It's a long story, but I'm done with Dynojet their PCs. I'll run it without before I stick another one on the bike.
Tapper, I sent you a PM.

Have you stepped up to the hotter plugs that honda put in the 03's and later or are you still running stock 2002 heat range plugs? And how many miles do you have on the bike?

Doubtful that you needed it anyway, it could have been causing more harm than good if the map wasn't well matched to the bike.
