Bad Battery?
« on: September 25, 2006, 07:10:26 AM »

I was riding to work this morning, and a strange thing happen.  I came to stop at the intersection, and as I rolled to a stop, the bike died.  Thinking it was me, I hit the start, but it had a hard time turning over.  After a couple of tries, it started.  I looked down, my ODO was on the display, and my tripometers had been reset.  I usually keep my trip in the display as a gas guage.

I am thinking it's the battery or the connection.  Anyone have any other ideas?

Could be a whole lotta things, but more than likely it's your battery terminal connections. Clean 'em, pookie 'em up, and tighten 'em up good.

I would take the batt. to autozone and have them cycle, charge and test the batt. This way your know what your working with.

Thanks everyone.  When I get it back home, I'll check the connections, grounds, and test the battery.  I'll go from there.  Thanks again.

Was out riding and ended up on a gravel road...oddly not long after my spedo started bobbing around like it was going bad. Then worse yet a few days later all the console leds started blinking and the bike stalled. Luckily got it home and tore it down. Started with the battery first and there it was the neutral cable had worked loose. Tightened it up and she runs like a champ. Moral of the story always start with the battery and ground.
