Goldwing
« on: April 10, 2017, 08:24:37 AM »

Look like I am about 90% in on trading the Goldwing in on a 2017 Road Glide Special. Since Deb is riding the Slim S don't see us riding two up on Goldwing much. Hell we bought a trailer, I guess it only makes sense for us to own two Harley's. However, still keeping the VTX

You won't regret that Road Glide.  I'll be purchasing another in a couple years.   My old one was a 103 CU and I recently test rode the new Milwaukee 8 107 CU and huge difference.  You'll love the torque it has.  Go ahead and get rid of the Goldwing and bring that new Road Glide to BBT.

why 2 Harleys? why not get a MC that gives you a different type of ride? Like a BMW or a KTM maybe a Ducati Multistrada? Something you can use on the Hwy or get on some of the gravel roads. I'm thinking about swapping the Wing myself but I want something more capable than another big heavy road bike.

John doesn't come off to me as wanting to ride on the dirt.  Besides if you think about it plenty of Harley's have gone off-roading when coming in too hot on curvy roads.... :couch:

not necessarily dirt or gravel but just a different kind of ride other than another big , heavy hog. The BMW GS is a great road bike and you could take it down some dirt roads if you wanted. Just a suggestion as I've been thinking about something more fun.

2 Harley's I guess cause my wife won't let me ride hers, and I doubt she would want's to ride her's off road... We actually have been beating around picking up a couple of Enduros. We might pull the strings next year, so we can ride with our grand daughter.

Road a 15 and then jumped on the 17. With the Milwaukee 8 and the new suspension, felt like I was riding a total different bike. I closed the deal today and will be picking it up on Thursday. However, she will be staying home when we come to BBT.  Bringing the VTX, so she does not feel neglected.

Well guess it's congrats on the new Milwaukee 8 and hope she's a sweet ride for ya. I guess we need to have a board and member group meeting to formulary change the group name to EX-X Texas Riders of Texas. I would like to up grade (or down grade) to something else but "Ole Blue" I'm afraid she has more miles left than I do so she's stuck with me.   :c
