PGR riders????
« on: September 16, 2006, 10:43:35 PM »

Is there anyone who is a PGR member?  Incase you hadnt heard,  PGR= Patriot Guard Riders.

This is a Group of folks all over the country that Rider for Fallen Heros such as Police, Firemen, and Most importantly to me anyway Service men and Women of our US Armed Services.

Anyway, I'm not recruiting or anything. But,  This is imprtant to me being a USAF Vet.  (most of you know if you met me just by seeing my vest.)
But, if you are in search of a fulfilling thing to do while you ride then you must attend one of there MISSIONS.  Wow, I have never been more moved.

Alittle history;  This group from my understanding was formed becuase there a few groups located in Kansas and Oklahoma that like to protest there political views and their Idea of the best venue is to attend one of these Heros Funerals and show there  (  o  ).
These riders, if there are protesters they will line the family vehicles and the hearst,  using the bikes and sounds of the motors to block out these sick folks from the families mornful time.   There was a great artical in the Thunder Press about this and If you are interested go to Patriotguard.org and become a member.

Anyway just wanted to share this incase there are some more Vets that werent aware of this Group.
BTW, you dont have to be a VET to join or ride.  Our Moto and One of the rules is to RIDE WITH RESPECT.

Thats it.

I am a member of the Guard but have yet to be able to be a part of any missions.   :(  I relocated to DFW from Texarkana a few months ago and just not set up my location for DFW to get the updates on the missions closer to home.  I am more than happy to help out any way I can.  This whole "Church up in Kansas" thing really strikes a nerve with me when it involves our soldiers.

I am a member but my work keeps me from making many of the duties. However, I make them when I can. My first was gut wrenching, but I'm proud to do it. It was very fulfilling. I believe that regardless of your politics, whether you agree with the war or not, these young men and woman that lay their lives on the line deserve all they can get. I thought that I would punch a protester if they caused any problems, but then I remembered that the soldiers that have died, died for their right to protest also. I don't like it, I think what they do is disgusting, but it is their right. It's a shame that such a fine organization as the patriot guard had to be formed in order to protect common decency. I urge you to join and attend when you can. You won't regret it.
