Remember Larry, he's a noob to the VTX...you can't get enough of those 1300 or 1800 CCs of go-go juice.  I'm still giddy after almost 10 years.     The LSR is just an excuse to get out and ride, but I think Scott will get hooked on the "rally" part, too.  Larry, you should start posting some of the "good" pics from prior rallies for him to drool over for the next two weeks.

The Rally is just the excuse; I have been to enough ATV rides out in the middle of East Texas plus tiddie road at Texas Motor Speedway and have seen it all.  I like a party but am looking forward to the ride more than anything.  I am a N00B to the VTX but certainly no N00B to anything else.  If I had pics...oh wait, I do.  Can't show ‘em here.

I am pretty sure it's Harmonson Rd.  I walked there from our campsight....hard to find on google maps.

That was fun!!  We went up early Saturday and MAN WAS IT WINDY!!!!  Crossing the causway to the island was brutal.  We got in and parked on the strand pretty early and didn't realize how packed is was going to get way at the back.  Between the thousands of bikes that came after us and the parade of bikes we got locked in.  Luckily we were able to ride down a sidewalk and through some grass beside a building and get out without having to be in the parade.  Not that I wouldn't mind it but had already seen two guys ram the back of the bikes in front of them.  I guess around 5pm on Saturday some of the riders had already partaken in a few adult beverages...either that or they are just idiots.  We walked around the strand for a few hours....not even sure what is outside of that.  Going back stopped in Kemah for dinner and left way too late...cold and dark about half way back.  I didn't get home until about 8:30 so half of my ride back was in the dark.  Don't mind it so much except we were on back roads and I don't want to hit any critters.  That and it was about 50 degrees when I got to my house.  It was ok until the sun went down then it got really cold! 

Overall, lots of fun.  Definitely going to do that next year again.  Next time we'll get a place to stay and check out more of the sites while we are there.  This made for a good first time to the LSR and a nice learning experience for the next time.
