Hasta La Vista, Amigos
« on: September 15, 2013, 12:29:02 AM »

Well friends, I regret to say my time in Houston has come to an end. As many of you know the company I worked for in Houston closed it's doors a few months ago. As much as I would have enjoyed staying in Texas, it wasn't to be at this time. I have found a new job and relocated to Seattle Washington. I arrived in Seattle this weekend. It was a pretty quick hire and relocate. I regret not being able to see all of you before I had to leave. But this isn't goodbye forever. I intend to continue making my annual Pilgrimage to the Lone Star Rally each November, sharing the beach house with the guys. With any luck I hope to make a quick visit back this November to start. I look forward to seeing you all again at the Rally's Meet & Greet!

It was great to spend 6 years with you guys and gals. As excited as I am to start a new job and explore and new city, it's always sad for me to have to leave behind good friends and riding buddies. But I will continue to follow along and keep up with you guys as a member of the TexasXRiders forum. I will always think fondly of my time as a Texas X Rider and of those of you I rode with, drank with, and laughed with.  :c

I look forward to getting my bikes up here soon and to enjoy riding through the beautiful Northwest. I will continue to share my photos with you on my photo blog web site and videos my Youtube Channel. As well as my other photos on my Flicker page.

You guys can follow my future travels here;

I wish all of you the very best and I will look forward to seeing you all again in our travels. be sure and let me know if any of you intend to make a ride up to the Northwest. I'll ride out and buy you a beer!

Robert, glad you'll still be coming into town from time to time.  I wish you the best of luck at your new job, and I'm envious of your new riding "backyard".

Congratulations...................on your new job and new home.

Once you have stayed in Texas you will always remember Texas. Not only for the Friends but the great Food and Landscape.

Ride safe and have fun exploring your new location.

I envy you, Robert.  Drove thru that part of the country last August and I can't wait to get my bike up there and really drive thru there. Oh, well. It's on my bucket list.

Of Course it's dirty. It's hard to clean when the tires keep moving.

Ditto what everyone has said.  You are now living in a part of the country that is beautiful and has some great riding roads....but not year round like here, LOL.  Enjoy.  Looking forward to seeing you the next time we see you.

I didn't spend as much time riding with you as did some our fellow Xriders, but I sure enjoyed what chance I had to hang out with you.

During this past July and August, I took a road trip on my bike through the part of the country you're moving to.  Even if you could spend every day from now on out exploring the region (which would not be possible since you're going there to work), you would be challenged to cover all there is to see and do.  I've been told that Seattle is kind of rainy most of the year (though they rarely get snow) (July and August is when they have most of their sunny weather), but I've also heard that Vancouver Island is much less cloudy and is warmer in the winter.  The Olympic Peninsula is only 30 minutes away by ferry and is a really beautiful area to explore.  The Cascades, Central Washington, British Columbia (including Vancouver) are all within a half days ride, and you could easily cover much of Oregon over a three-day weekend.  Could I talk you into adopting me as your son so that I can go with you?

Seriously, you're going to love it.

Look forward to see you again at future Lone Star Rallys and hearing about your travels around your new home.

Best of luck with your new job.

Hate to see you go Robert. NOT just because this will leave me as the "lone wolfe" democrat on the board but for your comraderie and bravery in the face of overwhelming numbers of republican (&@^#>.
Seriously, wish you all the best and, besides your trip down for the LSR, visit us virtually anytime!
