Throttle not returning issue on VTX 1300
« on: October 01, 2012, 08:18:11 AM »

I have a buddy of mine that I took off and pulled apart his carb to give it a good cleaning on his 2007 VTX1300c.  Well anyways, after reassembling everything and the bike turning on fine, the return on the throttle sticks pretty bad.  I've tried adjusting with no avail to the problem.  Any of you guys have any experience with this?

Oh, and the cables were never pinched or bound of any sort.  Just removed from the ferrel on the carb and replaced.

Have you checked to see if the cable inside moves freely? May have got some crud in it.

this just happened to me after i rebuilt the carb.
make sure the  ferrel is set corectly. i would take them out and reinstall them.
if you've tried the normal adjustments,
you may have piched the line under the tank
or do what i did, re reroute them with ties.
it creates less stress on them (not pulled as tight)
