Lowering a 1300s
« on: April 08, 2007, 09:27:49 AM »

I am wanting to lower my 1300 so my wife can ride it. Do I have to lower the front forks as well as the rear shocks? Any suggesstions? Gearing up for ROT and want her to be able to ride while we are down there.  ::)

You don't have to lower the front to match the back. Shocks can lower the back down at least an inch and a half and with a differnt seat even lower. Now if she was doing alot of two up riding might need to get heavy duty rear springs for sure. Good luck!!  8)

Why not just lower the seat? My bike is stock height and scrapes the boards in turns bad enough as it is. :-\

old thread but how does one go about lowering the seat? I have not taken it off and studied it, just thought I would throw out a question.

Lowering the seat just means you have to take out some of the foam
in the seat to make the height lower.

You can take a little foam out, then install a thin gel pad. That might get you 1.5".  You can get the gel off e-bay. Good Luck!
