Auto Turn Signal Cancelation Mod
« on: September 01, 2006, 12:33:03 PM »

I picked up a Kisan signal minder at the dealer and would appreciate any tips on installation. Has anyone done this little deal? I haven't looked to find the location of the existing flasher on the bike yet, so any help would  be appreciated.
Ride safe....

Thanks,
It was easy to find the flasher unit by the sound when operating (under right pop off cover) and plug the Kisan in. The extra wiring supplied with the new unit is to add some features like hazard and continuous flash while brake is applied, did not do that yet. After doing the change out, I set the turn signal to stay on for 10 seconds. Works good and I don't have to worry about discovering the still signal on way down the road. Try as I might to remember, it often happens, I'm old.   It is apparently inherent in the new set up that after the turn flash cycle ends, the turn signal push to reset MUST be pushed to reset the whole deal and to turn back on the running lites from the last turn direction selected. There were a couple of reset springs in the kit from Kisan but they look like they would not work with a pust to reset type switch.
