I got to walk through Fifi about 4 years ago at an Air Show here at Randolph Air Force Base, what a great thing to see her back up in the air again.

Well if you ever get up Dallas way stop in at the Cavanaugh flight Museum and pay your respects that is where she's based now.

or so I'm told.

(drive right by the thing everyday and just can't find the time to stop in there.)

Several years ago, I was a member of the Confederate Air Force, before they moved to Midland and became politically correct. I worked the ramp at several air shows . IT was always to cool to see FiFi Fly . What was really cool was every once in a while, one of the WWII pilots would show up and tell you how they used to fly one of our planes. They were instant celebraties.

You betcha - I used to love to go to the airshows with my dad - Those guys would get together and start talking and I could stay there as long as they could talk.  He flew a P-38L.  Just about all of those guys are gone now. . .   :(

Also to add to the above those of you in the Houston area at Ellington Field there is an F-100 and maybe an F-4 Phantom you can see do not know how long they will be there.Thes might be the last two of their type still flying.

one of the coolest flybys I ever saw was with a P-51, F86, a F-4, and a F 16  in formation gave me chills, I love aircraft and love to fly if I could afford it I would probably still be flying and would not have started riding again. ain't y'all lucky!

You're kidding me - I thought the Air Force was still using the F4 for it's Wild Weasle group.

Shoot.  I love that airplane.  I got to visit the Air Navy base here in the DFW area when they were still flying F4's - beautiful plane even if it does smoke more than my poor ole ma. and she smokes like the proverbial freight train.
