FI Light
« on: September 21, 2010, 05:47:12 PM »

Well, after having not ridden my bike in longer than I'd like to admit, I got her out of the garage today to fire her up.  Hooked the battery charger up and cranked her but the FI light didn't light up on the console.   The pump won't come on.  Is there a next step I am missing here?  She's sat with Stabil in the tank and I dropped some Sea Foam in there today.

Thanks for any help.

Sounds like the kill switch is not working correctly. Rock the kill the switch on and off several times. Turning the key on at this time "should" make the fuel injection pump start up. IF NOT, Rock the kill switch with the key ON until the FI light comes on.

Good Luck

Of Course it's dirty. It's hard to clean when the tires keep moving.

It does sound like the kill switch. It could be corroded and not making connection. I feel certain you had the kill switch to the on position.   :c

Yep, it's on and in neutral.  My PCIII powers up but the lights don't move when I twist the throttle.  I can get it started but as soon as I let off the throttle it dies again due to no power to the pump.  Maybe the pump has a ground issue?

Nah... But I just checked the battery after having been on the charger all night and it's toast.  I am going to get a new battery for it and a 6 pack of cerveza and look at it again this afternoon.
