Clayton Mod one more time
« on: August 23, 2010, 08:41:48 PM »

I know you veterans on here are probably tired of talkin about this subject but i have a ?. I've had my VTX for 2 weeks, did the clayton mod on it, 6 holes in the back plate, of everything i've read i've seen nothin about drilling into the small center pipe, is this whats called goin deep? I like the sound the clayton mod has but i'd like it a little louder, I have a 12" long 1/2 inch bit that is long enough to reach inside this center pipe. Any suggestions or advice is much appreciated

Going deep is doing through both plates. The first plate doesn't do much, the second one is about 6-8 inches back. Drilling through the actual tail pipe helps to.  I've even seen people stick a wooden dowel and hammer it in to the pipe to remove the cap all together. Then there are other folks that take the time to open up the pipes and remove the baffles.  Your call.
