Trying to help a friend
« on: August 15, 2010, 07:47:39 AM »

Hey all you wrench wizards, my little friend Laura has a 650 yamaha silverado with a problem. Seems it will start and idle while on the side stand but dies as soon as you stand it up. I told her you geniuses would know the answer , so what ya' think ?

Could be the kickstand switch, does this model have a kickstand switch ??? If it does it can be disabled.

Has it been sitting up? Possibly laquer in the carb? How much gas is in it?
Possibly trash in the gas that moves to the pick-up when it's stood up.

Fill the gas tank and add Seafoam and let it run on the kickstand and see if that cleans out the lines.
