Tire size
« on: July 07, 2010, 07:02:13 PM »

It has come time for me to put my first set of tires on my 1300s.  My question is "is wider better?"  I do not want to trade looks for performance.  Also where is a good place to buy tires?  I dont want to get ripped off but I dont want a crappy tire either.

Discount Motorcycle Tires in Pasadena.  Good prices, good work, relatively quick.  I have had good luck with them for tires.  130K miles so about 10-12 years and 5-8 fronts.  Other opinions may vary.  Good luck!

:agree: with RocknRoll, on discount tire, only thing is when you go in have the tire you want in mind and stick with it, call ahead and make sure they have the ones you want. Don't let them make you a deal,  :banghead: I did and the tire lasted about 6 months.
They are fast and do good work.

Honda of Houston has about as good a deal as Pasadena.Pasadena usually has a wider selection. Just make sure they have your size. I have used both. Pricing about the same just depends on which side of town your on.

Wider is not all in all better on these rims. On my old 1300 I went back to stock size and ran the ME880 on both wheels. Lasted me good. I sold my old bike to Noob 3 years ago he still has not replaced the front tire.
