Need a Throttle Sleeve for VTX 1800
« on: June 03, 2010, 05:35:04 PM »

Folks,

I am looking for a Throttle sleeve for my 1800N without going to the Stealer.  Any ideas where to get one?  I have searched the internet and have come across plenty of places that sell them as a package that includes the sleeve, grip and end cap.  All I need is the sleeve.

Thanks in advance...

Looks like you have to buy the sleeve and grip. I broke the end off mine and rigged it back on. Looks like I will have to buy the whole setup or go with different grips.

As far as I know, you have to buy the kit and take the old style grip off.

Thanks everyone,  I have come to the conclusion that I cannot by Just the sleeve.  I have found numorous websites that sell the kit but by the time you pay their extremely high shipping, it is going to be about the same price as the dealer.  Most of the websites will sell it for around $25 with around $10-$15 in shipping.  My local dealer sells it for around $30 plus tax...  Oh well, I need it or I cannot ride...

Thanks again....

I bumped the chrome end on mine and broke the threaded end off. I rigged it on with a piece of dowel and a small screw for a temp fix. Luckily I procrastinated on replacing it and found the grips I want and the instructions require cutting the threaded end off. hopefully I will be ordering them in the next few weeks. sometimes it is better to put off till tomorrow what can do today.

Bikers Bay in Euless TX had a set of factory VTX grips on their take off shelf for $10.00  a couple of weeks ago. Give em a call 817-354-1400.
