Lost my nuts....
« on: September 18, 2009, 10:23:57 AM »

Well, actually, just one. I noticed the clutch on my 1800 felt "funny" this morning. The clutch lever bolt was nearly all the way out of the hole. I got it screwed back down and it is fairly tight but the locknut on the end has dropped off somewhere on the road.

Anybody know what size it is so I can pick up a replacement? I don't have the manual here at werk so I can't look it up myself.

Thanks.

Of Course it's dirty. It's hard to clean when the tires keep moving.

I lost the same bolt too, while on my trip in July I stopped at a ace hardware, unscrewed the bolt, took it in with me and found a replacement nut.

FTR, it's a 6 [from the manual: "Pivot Nut 6N*m (0.6 kgf*m, 4.3 lbf*ft)]

Yeah, I pulled the clutch bolt when I got home and took it to Lowe's. They've got a rack for sizing bolts and nuts and I found out it's a 6mm. Bought me a package of 4 nylon locknuts and they fit perfectly when tightened down. So I know I'm not going to lose that one again.
