Most dealers stock it; IIRC it's like $10 a tube.

yea, a couple of years ago, when i was in dfw, i found one honda dealer (out of several) that had a tube to sell.  i bought it, used it, on my and several other bikes, ordered a couple of more from hdl, but in the move lost them.

now here in san antonio, i found N35 Honda in New Braunfels has one tube.  they were going to hold it for me, but then i checked my bearings after having my tire mounted, and they aren't so good.

looks like I'll be ordering bearings and moly 60 from HDL.

oh well.   patience is a virtue.  or so they say.

I don't care what other people think. They don't do it very often!
Of Course it's dirty. It's hard to clean when the tires keep moving.

let me dig to see if I got some left, I may have let another rider have it but not sure if he took it after all.

I am in New Braunfels so it would still mean you would have to come this way...

don't worry about it.    After calling around SA for bearings, and finding a few for $20 each, and not so great quality, I broke down and ordered the kit from HDL that comes with rear wheel bearings, and the flange bearings, (4 sealed bearings total) and some moly 60 (separate from the bearing kit).

check your flange bearings folks.   it's a known issue.   i had a little over half my marbles left.   and there was metal bits and pieces laying in the flange.

my wheel bearings are OK, but I'm going to change them anyway since they come with the kit and rear wheel is off.

How many miles did the dead bearings last?

just a tip when you do the bearings, put them in the freezer overnight. take them out as you install each one, makes it go alot smoother. the flange bearing is an issue, luckily it's not a load carrying bearing just a pilot bearing. it's the general consesus that these are messed up when they are originally installed at the factory, meaning they are pressed in incorrectly. by freezing the replcement bearings and slightly heating the flange they go in, you reduce the risk of them binding and going bad again. good luck and let us know how it goes.

I think I got close to 18k miles out of the flange bearings.   I did the wheel bearings and flange bearings, even though the wheel bearings did not require replacement, since it was cheap to order the four sealed bearings from HDL.

I did it myself.   Now that I've done them once, it's duck soup, and I can change them out with every new tire, if need be.

Some energetic pounding, taking them out.

and very precise and delicate tapping on the way in.  don't hit the inner race, or the bearings.   you can only safely tap on the outer race.  this video shows how i put them back in.

motorcycle wheel bearing replacement, engine bearing removal

i used the honda moly liberally on the flange splines.    and some lighter moly to make it easier to tap in the bearings.

Wheel spins smooth as glass now.
