RAIN
« on: July 07, 2009, 10:02:07 AM »

Rain beautiful rain, it's 73 degrees out and I'm off today yippie! I haven't seen rain since Memorial Day and that was in the Hill Country. We have been under water restriction for weeks here, not sure if it will help the 2 brown patches in my yard. I hope others are enjoying it too.

I started water about 9 pm last night...........................

We get charge a 3000 gals minimum a month for water regardless if we use or not. We use about 1500 to 1700 a month so since we are paying for it we are going to use it.....

We have a couple of brown patches too.  :cuss:

I finally gave up on any rain coming and soaked my back yard for 8 hours on Saturday and then the front yard for 6 hours on Sunday. And then yesterday watered all my sago palms in huge planters at the office. So figures today we get a good rain. And topping on the cake is this morning I came into work and 5 rooms are flooded. Baseball sized hole in the gutter  :cuss: and stupid roof design has the gutters mounted internal structure so if they leak  it runs down between the drywall and outside brick. Now it'll probably rain all week preventing me from doing a permanent repair. Just back from Lowe's buying the strongest wet vac they had.

Yep, got lots of rain in our area also, and the whole area between home and work.  Got the soaked clothes drying here at the office to prove it.  :ohwow:

OMG...you rode in that this morning??   :ohwow:  I could hardly see the road at one point on the when into the office!  But I did see two guys on rockets, riding.  Oh, almost forgot...one Harley owner, broke down in the middle of the road!  I DID stop and asked if he needed help....he answered "I have someone coming, thanks".  Poor guy!!   :bikerider:

I showed up at a campsite where 4 of my biker co-workers were staying. We were going on a morning ride to get breakfast. Two of the guys that were supposed to ride waved me on and said "We can't make this one". My boss started his bike and looked at me and said "A lot of people 'own' motorcycles".

Send it my way. We got one little shower last night. I returned from vacation to a brown crunchy yard and started watering that night just to try and save some of it. Why is it the weeds prosper but grass burns up. Luckily my fruit trees faired better.  :violin:

Yeah, we got back from our VA trip to a lawn in very bad shape.  It was nice to have some rain...I think the news said Tomball got around 3.5 inches, so we probably got the same here.  But the lightning kept me up for most of the early morning...all those flashes even with my eyes closed!  >:(
