Do you ever forget to turn off your blinkers?
« on: June 16, 2009, 01:59:05 PM »

If this ever happens to you, I would like to offer this just FYI....................

I try very hard to remember to turn my blinkers off after a turn. However, as hard as I try, there are stil times that I look down and notice that I have failed to turn them off and it makes my SKIN CRAWL to think how many cars could have pulled out in front of me thinking that I was preparing to make a turn.

I have just installed an aftermarket solution that should help keep me safer. It is a beeper that sounds when either blinker is on and neither brake is being applied. So, when approching a turn and I am on the brakes, no beeper. Or, if I am sitting at a traffic light waiting for a turn arrow with brakes applied, no beeper. However, after the turn is complete it is virtually impossible leave the blinker on because of that  :cuss: beeper.

Yes, it does sound a little bit like a dump truck backing up and I fully expect to get teased  :stickpoke: about it. But hey, if it keeps me from having someone pull out on me because I left my blinker on then so be it.

Here is the link to where I bought it http://glensvtxgarage.com/turnsignal_beeper.html

I got the version that includes the 4 way flashers. It was easy to install....................for what it is worth.

I think we all do it. My sick joke is How do you pick out the Honda rider? he's the one riding down the road with his turn signal on! Good safety feature.

Not for more than ten miles at a time that I have witnessed.  :stickpoke:

I have a blinker buddy in my seat, it massages my hemroids at the same time it's telling me to turn my blinker off. I have been known to drive in circles for hours with my blinker on.  :couch: :pot:

If you noticed, I never got over 9 mph over the speed limit. Unless they did something stupid like posting 45, 55 or 65mph.  :stickpoke:  :c

I either hit the button in mid turn or immediately after I straighten up.  I also constantly hit the button as I'm riding down the road just incase.  I probaby do it for the next several miles every few minutes.  I picked that up after seeing everyone else leave their blinkers on.
