Ok here the story.. out enjoying the wonderful day on the X today. Riding by myself thankfully. I see something that looks like rebar in the road so I move to miss it. Well I just caught the corner of it with the front tire and it kicks it up. Guess were the silly thing ended up yep had a perfect shot into the lower radiator hose and stuck in it. This piece was only about 8 inches long. I heard it it and felt it at the floor board so I said ahhhh S@$T and stopped to see what was up. I couldn't get over what I saw. It went clear through it and stuck sealing the hose as it did.. I sat there bewildered at both the rotten luck as well a seeing the silly thing is just barely dripping. I secured it as best I could not wanting to pull it out out of have it fall out on its own and rode the 40 miles home.. By the way it wasn't rebar it was a long nail used to nail down landscape timbers so that's why it bad a perfect hole in the house. I save the nail as well as the hose..
Good ole AutoZone had a molded house close enough to cut a new one out. I saved most of the Antifreeze and reused it only having to add about a quart I guess to top it off. Yep you have to pull the tank as the overflow tank refill port will not fill the system back up properly.. Way did the put the Rad cap under the tank anyways..lol

Just thought I would share this as I have never heard of or seen such a odd thing before. Shutter to think what would have happen if it had ended up it the radiator !!!!

The X is back on the road after just a couple hours of repair.. .. Looking forward to seeing everybody next weekend at BBT. We wont stay. Saturday is the only day we could make it and its not worth the 70 bucks to get in. I hope we can catch up with some of you and ride with the gang.. I know I am looking forward to seeing Gumbo and Lucky and her Hubbie again. :O)

  Well glad it was not anything worse and you made it home ok.

Damn...I know it would have sucked to have it puncture your radiator, but your leg would have been even a worse place.  Glad the damage was minimal and you are ok.  See ya next weekend.
